An opportunity has arisen within Womens services to work on either of our delivery suites or on the postnatal ward area at St James Hospital.

We are looking for a friendly, kind, compassionate and motivated person to provide ward clerk support. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well within a team as well as being able to use their own initiative and work to deadlines.

Main duties of the job

This is a patient facing position, so experience of customer service is essential. Our service supports women and families from a wide demographic. The candidate should have experience in working with people from multiple ethnic backgrounds and be able to effectively communicate where English is not a first language.

There is a need to have good computer skills as responsibilities will also include recording real time admissions, transfers, and discharges on the Trusts Patient Administration System (PAS) as well as making appointments, filing of notes and results. Duties also include ordering of stores and equipment and supporting the team with general administration duties.

Previous experience of working in a patient administration area, using PAS and PPM+ would also be an advantage.
