We
have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to work in the
newly developed Perinatal Pelvic Health service (PPHS) team at Leeds Teaching
Hospitals NHS Trust.
As
part of the national establishment of Perinatal Pelvic Health Services to
improve and transform postnatal care, the post holder will contribute to the
care of women and birthing people in Leeds and its surrounding area. The post
holder will work alongside an Advanced Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
practitioner and a Senior Physiotherapist in the PPHS team to support
perinatal patients during pregnancy and with their physical recovery post
birth. Physiotherapy input includes a mixture of outpatient, inpatient and
group provision working. The caseload is interesting and varied, often
requiring a sensitive and empathetic approach.
The
successful applicant will demonstrate a professional and flexible approach to
their work, as well as the ability to adapt to new challenges. We are seeking
an individual who is a team player and a fantastic communicator who is
motivated to help support the delivery and development of the PPHS service in
Leeds.

Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will be part of the newly developed PPHS and existing
Urogynaecology Physiotherapy teams at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The
post holder will be involved with supporting clinical staff with both
clinical, administrative and support work, providing clinical care for
Perinatal patients, during pregnancy and following birth. The successful
applicant will work in varied clinical settings, including outpatients,
inpatients and group session provision. You will have the opportunity to
contribute to and support service development and work collaboratively with
the PPHS and Urogynaecology Physiotherapy teams, as well as the wider
multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will be well supported by the
Specialist Physiotherapist and Advanced Pelvic Health Practitioner in the
PPHS team as well as the wider Urogynaecology and Obstetric Physiotherapy
services.
The
successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and IT
skills, enthusiasm for the job and problem-solving skills to ensure they can
recognise and manage sometimes challenging situations. Prior Physiotherapy,
Urogynae or Maternity experience is desirable but not required and on the job
training will be provided.
