Senior Clinical Emergency Nurse Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Senior Clinical Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) within the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit one Senior ENP to lead our minor injuries service. The MIU is located at both the Leeds General Infirmary and St James University Hospital within the Emergency Department where we see and treat over 70,000 patients per year.
This opportunity has opened for a dynamic, motivated and innovative Emergency Nurse Practitioner / Urgent Care Practitioner to join our team of highly skilled staff. This position would be suitable for those who wish to further their careers within a hospital environment where clinical roles are rapidly advancing to meet the challenges of the new NHS.
We are looking for an individual who can help to shape the service, driving standards and quality of care for our patients, with passion and pace through collaborative working. The successful candidate will be required to undertake quality improvement work as well as provide clinical leadership to trainee and junior members of the team.
These posts will offer the right candidate the exciting opportunity to extend their practice and deliver high quality care to service users attending the Minor Injuries Units. The candidate will autonomously assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge or refer patients according to their clinical condition.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be practising as an independent specialist clinical practitioner providing patient-centred and evidence- based clinical care, within an agreed scope of competence and practice. The jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluations of care and the setting of standards of care.
The jobholder will provide specialist nursing care, treatment and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The jobholder will support the effective use of resources and the development of interdisciplinary and whole service working. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. The job holder will provide training and education to staff groups, patients and families/carers.
The post holder will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to implement and improve the patient pathway and will be expected to develop new skills to further enhance the quality of the service delivered. Where appropriate, the role will include the day to day leadership and management.
