About
this role
Reporting
directly to the Head of nursing for Urgent care, you will strategically lead
a team of clinical educators, and governance coordinators. Your primary purpose
is to ensure the application of leading the quality and safety agenda across
in the Clinical Service Units (CSU). To grow and deliver the education
strategy. You will carry the CSU
portfolio for our people priorities and staff engagement.
You
will have significant exposure and impact with the opportunity to influence
the CSUs culture and senior leaders vision.
The
post holder will:
Support the Head of Nursing with
all issues relating to nursing within the CSU and will be an integral part of
the senior nurse structure within the CSU.
Design and implement and keep track
on the people priorities accountability structure in the CSU.
Work with a variety of stakeholders
to provide pragmatic and employee focused programme of development and engagement
for the staff in UC CSU, supporting the development of a positive culture
across the CSU.
Establishes and fosters an
effective working relationship with the team to lead improvement in nursing
and midwifery care and service delivery and the achievement of organisational
priorities within the CSU
Drive the LTHT people priorities
and wellbeing through evaluating available data and proposing and partnering
with managers and senior leaders on creative and effective initiatives.
Support delivery of the N&M
strategy in the CSU and accountable for the professional practice of the
workforce across the CSU.
Take ownership for the quality and
safety agenda in the CSU where appropriate and through performance management
and monitoring, ensure essential quality standards are achieved and improved.
Leads and participates in performance review programmes throughout the
clinical areas.
Continue to build and deliver the
CSU education strategy. Formulating development programs to strengthen
leadership at all levels. Leads and champions the improvement and development
of nursing practice within the CSU in line with regulatory requirements,
Trust objectives, national guidance and whole system transformation.
Deputise for the Head of Nursing as
and when required.
Build on and embrace the simulation
programme in the CSU.
Ensure the Leeds Way Values are
embedded within the CSU and across the Trust.

you
Knowledge,
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications
Registered Nurse (current
registration with the NMC)
Bachelors degree in subject
relevant to the role.
Masters degree or evidence of
practical application of expertise at this level
Post-graduate qualification within
a leadership programme/study or evidence of practical application of
expertise at this level
Experience
Significant experience as a senior
nurse.
Demonstrable evidence of specialist
knowledge of the professional leadership and management of nurses/allied
health professionals (pertaining to the area of clinical practice)
Evidence of on-going and relevant
personal and professional development in the last 2 years.
Demonstrable experience managing
clinical services and of leading improvements in clinical settings, patient
care and experience across multiple specialities.
Knowledge
and skills required
Evidence of on-going and relevant
personal and professional training
In depth knowledge of the clinical
governance agenda including clinical risk and safety.
Specialist knowledge of nursing or
allied health professionals, professional issues care and service delivery
Demonstrates a clear understanding
of and continuing acceptance of the need for financial governance and probity
