An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Emergency Department (ED) Triage team within the Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit at the Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust. This is an exciting time to join St Jamess ED as work progresses in our brand-new purpose-built Triage & Assessment front door service, planned for completion this year. We are looking for dynamic self-motivated Registered General Nurses to join our newly formed team in Triage & Assessment.

This service will cover a 24-hour period and will therefore include days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will be responsible for the Triage & Assessment of patients attending the ED, directing and referring them to the appropriate service. As a new and developing role there is opportunity for additional skills and service development, applicants should be adaptable to a changing environment that prides itself on quality and efficiency.
Working closely with the Assessment Areas throughout the trust and our in-patient Acute Assessment Units will give our team the opportunity to expand their clinical knowledge throughout the Urgent Care Clinical Service Unit. You will need to be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a recognised teaching and assessing qualification. Recent Urgent Care or Assessment Area experience is desirable, however not essential.
You will be required:
To take direct responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
You will lead by example and inspire best practice whilst supporting your team to provide excellent care through the ethos of the Leeds Way Values.
Lead and develop a team to expand their skills and clinical knowledge.
To act as a clinical resource within the service.
To act as a positive role model.
Successful applicants will be required to demonstrate recent change management and implementation, a clear understanding of Leeds Teaching Hospitals key aims and objectives.
