Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for an Education Practitioner within the Perioperative Education Team of the Theatres and Anaesthesia Clinical Service Unit. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for education and development of staff to join our friendly and dynamic team. You will be energetic, hardworking, and committed to the professional development of the theatre workforce as well as yourself.

Main duties of the job

The primary focus of the role will be to work with the Education Team on the delivery of the education and training strategy within Perioperative Services.

The post holder will support the training of Apprentice Practitioners, facilitate various training programs and learning bursts for both registered & non-registered staff. Staff development at all levels of upmost importance to the team and CSU and so the post holder will be involved in devising, facilitating and delivering these course.

You will be expected to work alongside existing staff, students and apprentices within the clinical environment as appropriate.

Theatre, Anaesthetics, or PACU experience is essential and you must hold either NMC or HCPC registration. Possessing perioperative care experience, you should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of perioperative care practice and be able to translate this into training for our staff in order to ensure we provide quality evidence based care to our patients.

LTHT has over 60 operating theatres and over 900 clinical members of staff. The education team are fundamental is supporting staff development and learning. The team is based across all four sites, with the main bases being SJUHs and LGI. The team works closes with external organizations and has strong links across WYATT.
