Job summary
We
are recruiting for a Team Leader for David Beevers, Day Case Unit at St
Jamess University Hospital in Leeds. David Beevers Day Unit has a
multi-faceted role in admitting and readying patients for elective surgery
across St Jamess, discharging elective same day discharges and providing
overnight twenty-three-hour care.
You
will be required to support and nurture your team whilst being an innovative
and dynamic leader to imbue your team with the ambition and drive to improve
the elective and day case service whilst applying the Leeds way values with
BADS guidance and frameworks to improve the experience for the patients in
JAL. The successful candidate will also work with the Matron, Deputy Matron
and fellow Team Leaders working collaboratively in continuing to improve
Leeds Teaching Hospitals day case surgical services.
Main duties of the job
The
Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and
efficient management of the department. Providing management and professional
leadership for the peri-operative team. The jobholder is responsible for
ensuring the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and
evaluation of programmes of care are maintained to a high standard. Managing
the administrative and financial aspects of the department. The jobholder
will ensure cost effective use of resources. The jobholder will participate
in mentorship and teaching programmes for multi - disciplinary groups within
the department. The jobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality
evidence-based practice, developing the team and ensuring effective
management of the department in the absence of the Matron and Deputy Theatre
Matron.
