This post is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to be the General Manager for the Operations Centre (CSU) at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. The General Manager is a key role within the CSU leadership alongside the Head of Nursing and the Director team. The team is collectively accountable for building the strategic and operational direction and delivery of urgent and emergency care and response in partnership with city system colleagues.

Main duties of the job

The clinical service unit is a busy and fast paced environment, so the post holder must be adaptive to change and able to make rapid balanced decisions to enable best care for patients and support for staff. The post-holder will - Provide strong leadership to a well-established and highly performing team. Line manages a team to support national data and report submissions. Act as the leader on point to deliver the performance and financial objectives for the operations centre. Provide leadership in delivering the CSUs priority areas, such as clinical service development, contracting, business cases and Leeds Improvement Method value streams. Support the Head of Nursing and Director of Operations in deciding the strategic direction and management priorities for the service particularly aligned with the 10-year plan. Champion patient-centered care ensuring safety; quality and patient experience are embedded in everything we do.

The post holder will manage a clinical service unit or clinical support unit, comprising a number of specialties or support services supporting the Director of operations, the post holder will be responsible for the overall delivery of service, quality, financial and other targets as determined by the Executive Directors. In partnership with the Director of Operations, the post holder will be responsible for business, workforce and financial planning within his/her own unit and will work closely with other managers and clinicians to support Trust-wide objectives.
