Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen within the HIV outpatients Department at Leeds
Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
We
are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated nurse to work alongside a
team of professionals dedicated to the delivery of HIV services. The job role
will be 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) with the potential to run an early
morning / late evening clinic session within those days.
This
is an opportunity to be part of a team that delivers the highest standards of
care to this group of patients both in and out of a hospital setting.
The purpose of this role is to act as a
professional resource to people with HIV, their families and carers and other
health care professionals.
The
appointee will manage a caseload of patients and provide education and advice
in all aspects of HIV infection.

Main duties of the job
You
will be required:
To
act as a clinical resource within the HIV Outpatient Department
To
work within a multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of the
highest level of clinical practice within the HIV Service.
To
travel to our spoke sites in Dewsbury and Wakefield where we provide HIV
clinics on a weekly basis.
To
act as a positive role model and as a source of expertise and knowledge to
patients, carers and health care professionals
To
demonstrate the Leeds Way Values of patient centered, fair, collaborative,
accountable, empowered
To
provide nursing expertise and contribute to the development of the specialty
service and strategic direction of nursing within the Trust.
To
be self-motivated, have the ability to prioritise and work autonomously.
Teaching and assessing skills are essential.
To
undertake the non-medical prescribing qualification if you havent already got
it.
The
successful applicant will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of Leeds
Teaching Hospitals professional commitment and have a willingness to develop
your scope of practice.
