Teaching Hospitals Bone Health Service.
Within
Endocrinology/Bone Health we are looking for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse who is
enthusiastic and highly motived to work as part of a dynamic team.
The
Bone Health multidisciplinary service, aims to identify, investigate and
initiate treatment. We work with local healthcare partners to deliver a
multi-agency holistic service for people over the age of 50 within the local
area who have suffered a fragility fracture, with the aim of reducing their
risk of subsequent fractures.
The
successful applicants will be responsible for identifying these patients, and
in conjunction with other members of the healthcare team, co-ordinate,
provide advice, support and education to the patient in relation to on-going
treatment and prevention of secondary fractures.
The
specialist practitioner will contribute to the care of the patient group by
leading on defined aspects of care and communicate with patients in ways that
empower them to make informed choices about their health and healthcare.
Main duties of the job
Be
educated to nursing degree level
Have
a minimum of 2 years post registration nursing experience
If
you have an interest in endocrinology and bone health, have excellent
communication and organisational skills, are dynamic and confident with the
ability to work well within a small team, but also work autonomously within
the area of endocrinology and bone health, then you may be who we are looking

Endocrinology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a Multi-Disciplinary
Team that delivers a high quality service for patients attending for
pituitary and adrenal dynamic testing, and osteoporosis treatments. The team
of Specialist Nurses are dedicated to the development of Endocrinology
