Job summary
An
exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced registered nurse to join
our team as a Night Nurse Practitioner, delivering critical out-of-hours
services. This role supports clinical governance and patient care continuity
during night and weekend shifts. A structured three-month supernumerary
training period will be provided to ensure proficiency and confidence in the
role
They
will contribute to the provision of professional, clinical, managerial
leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for helping to
develop and maintain a ward or departments philosophy that has the patient
at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery
As
an experienced nurse the jobholder will assist in co-ordinating activities on
the ward or department ensuring effective communication is maintained at all
times, providing support to qualified and unqualified nurses within the
ward/dept. He/she will play a key role
in the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation
and evaluation of programmes of care.
The
jobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence-based
practice, developing the nursing team and ensuring effective management of
the ward/department in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. The job
holder will work to ensure that staffing plans are enacted and reviewing
staffing for the coming shift.

Main duties of the job
This
is an out of hours position to support the medical and respiratory wards. The
job holder will carry a bleep so that each area can contact you when help is
required. Clinical skills needed for this role include; cannulation,
venepuncture, catheterisation, ECG and competent A to E assessment.
Additional training will be provided to ensure skills and kept current while
in the role.
About us
The
team is a small team working out of hours nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Supporting SIM, UC and Resp with staffing, patient investigations such as
canulation and ECG, and management of the acutely unwell patient.
