An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clerical Officer to join our Clinical Genetics administrative team. The successful candidate will support clinicians by ensuring patient case notes are available when required and by scanning records using WinDip as part of our move from paper to digital records. We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and able to work carefully with confidential information while supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The role involves preparing and providing patient case notes for clinical staff and scanning documentation using WinDip as part of the services transition from paper to digital records. The post holder will play an important role in maintaining accurate records and ensuring information is available to support safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Literate / Numerate. Education to GCSE grade C standard or equivalent or the ability to pass the Trusts Basic Literacy and Numeracy Test level 2

Desirable

  • NVQ2 in Customer Care or an equivalent level of knowledge/experience

Experience

Essential

  • IT skills including keyboard and data entry, with the ability to demonstrate proficiency in the use of software
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and administrative systems.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of patient related databases
  • Previous experience in an NHS service.

  • Flexible approach to duties and working practices
