Job summary
We are excited to advertise the position of Assistant Patient Services Co-Ordinator within the Outpatient Administration team, this is a temporary position for 6 months covering maternity leave.
The successful applicant will provide managerial support to our administration teams at Leeds General Infirmary and will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities in a busy patient administration team including a team of supervisors and clerical officers. The post holder must have the ability to organise and motivate a team to help achieve Key Performance Indicators.
The post holder will be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people including administration staff from other Clinical Support Units, medical staff and patients. The post holder will support the Outpatient Site Manager in delivering services that are moving towards a more digital way of working.
The post holder will manage their defined areas within the Outpatient CSU and will be responsible for prioritising work, developing staff and reviewing working practices to ensure the effective running of Outpatient Services ensuring that processes/procedures comply with legislation requirements covering Health & Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role are being responsible for the management of the day to day activities of a busy administration team ensuring the delivery of a high quality and effective service for our patients and staff on our Leeds General Infirmary site.
The main focus of the role will be to work closely with the Outpatient Site Manager to provide management and leadership to the Clerical Officer, and Outpatient Supervisor teams. The post holder will be required to monitor and maintain service delivery adhering to Key Performance Indicators. We are looking for somebody who can encourage and support others to adapt to new ways of working as we progress digitally across the CSU.
There is a focus on the Trusts 7 Commitments with key initiatives being rolled out such as T.E.A.M sessions and a staff engagement program enabling the team to learn from good practice and improve processes. There is a requirement to ensure the team feels fully supported utilising flexible working where possible and working from home opportunities.
There is a requirement to support and develop the supervisor team through training and mentoring. Staff management is an essential part of the Assistant Patient Services Co Ordinator role and therefore it is imperative that HR policies can be followed and adhered to.
