B7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, Hands and Plastics Outpatients. LGI
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced senior nurse to join Outpatient CSU as a Band 7 to lead the team in the Hands and Plastics Outpatient departments. The requirements of the service involve a flexible approach to working across two locations in same wing of LGI.
We are looking for a friendly, approachable and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills to help ensure the delivery of a high quality, evidence based and cost effective service. You will be supported by a Band 6 Sister/charge nurse and a mix of qualified nurses and associate nurses as well as Clinical support workers.
Applicants must be enthusiastic, demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and have leadership experience. If you have excellent communication and organisational skills and are keen to develop as a senior leader within LTHT we would love to hear from you. Due to the speciality previous experience of advanced wound management is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will be fully supported to participate and influence improvements for patients and staff in this area working with Head of Nursing and Matrons and other Outpatient Senior sisters/charge nurses to ensure we support improvements for patients who require outpatient care.

Main duties of the job
The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management for both Hands and Plastic outpatient departments on the LGI site. The job holder will be responsible for approximately 15 staff supported by a band 6 Sister/charge nurse to delivery outpatient care and interventions e.g. complex wound care. They will provide professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing and support worker team.
The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining the departments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery. Through managing the administrative and financial aspects of the department, the jobholder will ensure cost effective use of resources.
