Job summary

We have an exciting new Project Management opportunity to further develop Research across the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department.

We have funding to support a 0.4 WTE Project Manager for a 12-month fixed term period. The role will sit within our Business Management section.

You will:

Be an experienced Project Manager with strong leadership skills.

Be driven, ambitious and passionate about improving patient care.

Responsible for managing multiple research projects with variable budgets between £5000 to £250,000.

Responsible for developing and implementing work instructions, and processes to support research within the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department.

Main duties of the job

As Project Manager responsible for developing Research across the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department, you will work closely with the Lead for Research & Innovation and Radiotherapy Imaging and a complex range of stakeholders, including industry, academia, and the NHS.

MPCE supports the established range of applications of physics and engineering in medicine, and seeks to be actively involved in the development, assessment, implementation and audit of new and existing health care technologies and procedures.

The business management and administration section is led by a professional service manager. The scientific and technical sections within the Department are: Radiotherapy Physics, Radionuclide & MRI Physics, Clinical Engineering, Radiological Physics and Clinical Scientific Computing. Overall the Department has approximately 350 staff.
