Job summary
Are you ready for a new challenge? We are looking for an experienced clinical nurse specialist to become the team leader for the Lymphoedema CNS team.
As a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be able to provide your team with sound clinical judgement and act as a role model for your profession. The successful candidate would be focused on improving patient centred care and be able to work autonomously. You will need to have good organisational and prioritisation skills alongside excellent communication skills. You will have some management responsibilities of the individual staff members and responsibility for the quality of care provided by your team.
We are looking for someone as passionate as we are about patient care, who will actively participate in service improvement projects maintaining the focus on patient safety and experience.
You will treat patients with both cancer and non-cancer related lymphoedema in an out-patient setting at both Wharfedale Hospital and St James Hospital. Consideration will be given to single site working but it is hoped for at least one day a week cross site working. Main duties of the job
As team leader you will be responsible for a team with line manager responsibilities the team consists of Band 6 CNSs, lymphoedema assistant practitioner, senior clinical support worker
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a case load of patients, providing a patient focused, responsive service to this patient cohort.
This is a nurse led service, providing care to patients both autonomously and as part of a team. Patients are referred from multiple specialties including Oncology, Vascular services and GPs. These referrals can relate to patients who are experiencing lymphoedema to their limbs, head & neck, breast and genitalia. As a Nurse working in a Nurse-led service, you will be examining and assessing patients formulating long-term management plans with the patient, with a focus on education and self-care. You will also review patients and evaluate the outcomes of their treatment.
