If the answer is yes then we want to hear from you as we are looking to recruit registered nurses to join our Nurse Practitioner Team on Ward J95 The Acute Oncology Assessment Unit in Bexley Wing at St Jamess Hospital.
About the Role:
The unit consists of 10 trolley spaces and a waiting area for ambulatory patients, caring for oncology and haematology patients who are acutely unwell and need urgent assessment. It is a fast-paced environment where you will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to help support clinical assessments, investigations and deliver high standards of care. The assessment unit is open 7 days a week with a working pattern of long days, nights and twilights.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will:
Working as part of a team of highly skilled oncology nurse practitioners and the wider multi-disciplinary team member to deliver high standards of care to our patients.
Support the timely assessments of patients, gain experience in triaging, bed managing as well as carrying out interventions.
Act as a role model, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of highly skilled oncology nurse practitioners and the wider multi-disciplinary team member to deliver timely care to our patients.
The successful candidate will support the timely assessments of patients, gaining experience in triaging, patient flow as well as carrying out interventions.
The successful candidate will support the Oncology and Haematology helpline, providing a role in triage. Co-ordinate patient flow, working with the wards, management team and the LTHT operations centre.
Effective communication will be demonstrated at all times, liaising closely with other health professionals and departments ensuring patients and relatives are kept informed.
Will support wards and departments across the Oncology CSU out of hours.
