We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Senior Clinical Educator to join our Oncology team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. You will help shape the future of cancer care by supporting, educating, and developing both registered and unregistered staff across our oncology services.

About the Role

As a Senior Clinical Educator, you will:

Lead on the design, delivery and evaluation of clinical education programmes for nursing and AHP staff.

Support staff development through preceptorship, clinical supervision, and mentorship.

Collaborate across professional boundaries to improve care quality and patient outcomes.

Contribute to the strategic direction of the CSU through workforce development, quality improvement and service innovation.

Provide leadership and oversight to junior staff, and deputise for the Matron where required.

Experience: Substantial post-registration experience including in a Band 7, 6 or equivalent leadership role.

Relevant clinical experience (essential).

The role of the Senior Clinical Educator Post is essential for the organisation to ensure nurses and or ODPs work within the governing standards set by professional and regulatory bodies. The job holder will support, educate and develop registered and unregistered staff in their clinical role and competency, to meet the standards required to deliver high quality evidence based care for service users.

The job holder will deliver education on a Trust wide basis which impacts on a wide range of clinical areas and departments. The post holder will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of education and training of registered and unregistered workforce. They will work in collaboration with the senior management team to maintain and project the vision and objectives of the service and ensure that they are embedded in practice. They will identify and celebrate good practice and share with local and Trust teams. The post holder will lead by example, will be responsible for disseminating good practice and actively challenging assumptions, practice and performance where appropriate.

Qualification

Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for childrens areas )or Operating Department Practitioner

Relevant teaching and assessing qualification (essential)

Masters degree or post graduate level development equivalent to a masters

Experience

Significant and recent relevant clinical experience.

Clinical experience within the speciality (essential )

Significant post registration experience in a junior leadership role eg Band 6 or equivalent
