We are looking for 2 highly motivated, flexible and hard-working people to work within the Haematology Outpatient Department at St James Hospital - 1 x 35 hours and 1 x 20 hours per week. They will provide a high standard of clerical and reception services to our patients. They will work closely with the consultant body and other multiple specialties in a fast-paced environment within a supportive and encouraging team. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, IT skills and will have a flexible approach to work. They will have the ability to prioritise their own workload as well as working as part of a team. You will need to be able to demonstrate exceptional skills in customer care and ensure all matters relating to your work are dealt with in a sensitive and timely manner.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and other visitors to the department. They will be responsible general clerical duties including reception cover, dealing with telephone enquiries as well as registering referrals, booking appointments and managing outpatient waiting lists, supporting the various referral to treatment targets.
