Job summary
We are looking for two experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Scientists to fill two newly created permanent posts within the Radiological Physics and Radiation Protection Service (RPRPS).

To participate in the development of radiation protection and quality assurance of radiographic equipment across all modalities including state of the art hybrid imaging units. This includes the provision of clinical scientific and technical services to a wide range of customers. This work will include evaluating x-ray equipment, requiring high precision measurements.
The post holder will be involved in supporting radiology and other departments from the purchase of new equipment until the equipment is disposed; using patient dose management systems (Qaelum and Teamplay) for audit and optimisation purposes including the setting and review of local Diagnostic Reference levels; provision of national and local radiation approvals for research studies. The post holder will also be involved in providing RPA advice.
The post holder will participate in the teaching and training commitments of the section including scientific staff and clinical staff in addition to FRCR teaching.
