Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Leeds Teaching hospital NHS Trust for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist working within the Gynaecology Oncology Team at Leeds Cancer Centre, St Jamess Hospital. This post is part time 25 hours per week.
The post holder will work within in a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and be an integral part of the wider Multi-disciplinary Team providing holistic care to enhance the quality of life for patients/carers with a suspicion or diagnosis of Gynaecology cancer, including complex physical, psychological, and emotional needs.

Main duties of the job
The role of the CNS is primarily to support patients from a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of gynaecological cancer throughout their cancer journey acting as the patients key worker and taking into consideration the patients holistic needs and delivering personalised care.
The post holder will develop specialist knowledge in gynaecological cancer and treatment and will be able to offer expert advise to patients and colleagues.
The post holder will be office based but will attend regular outpatient clinics and provide specialist psychological support to inpatients. They will also be a core member of the MDT with regular MDT meeting attendance acting as the patients advocate.

The post holder will be part of a dedicated team comprising of 8 Clinical Nurse Specialists, 4 Medical Oncology Consultants, 6 Gynaecology Oncology Surgical Consultants, 3 Clinical Oncology Consultants we also work closely with Benign Gynaecology where most of our patients have their initial investigations and diagnosis. We work within a wider Multidisciplinary Team and collaborate with other services to provide care and treatment to our patients.
