Job summary

Are you a compassionate and experienced registered adult nurse looking for a new and rewarding challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team on J98 Gynaecology Oncology Surgery. We are looking for an established band 6 Sister or Surgical/Oncology band 5 with extensive post-registration experience ready to take the next step into a leadership role. Full induction and support to learn the Speciality will be provided alongside extensive leadership training and development.

J98 is a fast-paced surgical ward caring for patients undergoing surgery for Gynae-Oncology conditions who require compassionate and expert care. The ward also cares for Breast Surgery, non-surgical Oncology and Medicine patients therefore experience in any of these areas would be an advantage. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and well-developed clinical skills are essential.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate nurse who values high standards, team-working and best practice to support the Senior Sister in supporting, coaching and leading the team to provide exceptional patient care within a welcoming and caring environment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will play an important role in assisting the Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse with the responsibility of managing the ward efficiently.

You will contribute to the provision of clinical, managerial leadership and supervision of the Nursing team.

Responsible in developing and maintaining ward culture that puts patients at the centre of quality, compassionate care.

Assisting with managing administrative and financial aspects of the ward using cost effective measures.

Roster management and completion of annual appraisals
