Job summary
The
Childrens medical wards at Leeds Childrens Hospital are looking for
enthusiastic motivated staff nurses to join them in delivering the best high
quality patient centred care for children and young people 0-16.
L40 is an 18 bedded dynamic childrens medical
ward which also specialises in childrens diabetes and gastroenterology.
L30
has10 source isolation cubicles for general paediatrics and often have
specialty patients when isolation is required.
These
roles involve providing high quality direct patient care to children and young
people ages between 0- 16 many of which have medical complexity.
Both
teams support complex discharges including parental teaching to support the CNS
team and facilitate earlier discharge.
These
roles would suit a senior band 5 who is keen to broaden their skills and
knowledge and strengthen their CV. We would also value applications from junior
band 5 staff nurses as training and support will be offered.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will work as part of
the wider teamdelivering
direct patient care to children and young people supporting them and their
families during their admission.
L40
and L30 are dynamic wards with multiple specialities, time management and the
ability to prioritise demands are key required skills.
A
good understanding about conditions such as Diabetes Gastroenterology and acute
respiratory illnesses, in addition to an interest in young peoples mental
health would be advantageous. Additional training will be available as we have
excellent links with our CNS and education colleagues.
