We
are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to
join our dynamic Acute Stroke Unit team. This is an excellent opportunity for
newly qualified nurses or experienced staff nurses who are passionate about
delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with acute stroke and
complex neurological needs.
Our Acute Stroke Unit provides fast-paced, specialist
care focused on early assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. You
will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, including stroke
consultants, therapists, specialist nurses, and support staff, all committed to
improving patient outcomes.

About us
The
Stroke Unit is part of the Centre for Neurosciences at Leeds Teaching Hospitals
and provides specialist care for patients with acute stroke. The ward consists
of a 23-bedded mixed-sex adult stroke unit, delivering expert assessment,
treatment, and ongoing care.
In
addition, the service includes a 10-bedded Level 2 Hyper Acute Stroke Unit
(HASU), which admits patients directly from the Emergency Department. The HASU
functions as a Regional Thrombectomy Centre, also receiving patients
transferred from Harrogate.
We
