We are offering an exciting opportunity to be part of the team on J20 within the Specialty & Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit (CSU). We are looking for experienced Clinical Support Workers to apply for a role within Infectious Diseases & Travel Medicine.

We are passionate about getting it right for patients and their families, in order to achieve this, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Senior Clinical Support Workers. J20 is a busy and dynamic ward specialising in Infectious Diseases. Our team take care of patients with complex infections acquired in the community and healthcare settings. We have expertise int the management of resistant tuberculosis, complex HIV, viral hepatitis, orthopaedic bone & joint infections and infections acquired during travel to tropical regions.

You will work with a supportive, friendly team who are passionate about making staff feel valued and motivated. We have an excellent supportive competency programme to facilitate the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high quality care, you will be provided with a structured competency programme as well as a variety of training opportunities, with a dedicated Clinical Educator for the department.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will play an active role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the Infectious Diseases and Travel Medicine service. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will undertake a range of delegated clinical duties under the supervision and support of a registered practitioner, ensuring safe and effective care for patients with complex infectious conditions and travel-related health needs.

The postholder will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans, maintaining consistently high clinical standards. They will be expected to use sound judgement, take appropriate action within their sphere of competence, and work with initiative to support timely and effective patient outcomesparticularly in fast-moving infectious disease scenarios.

A key element of the role is supporting and promoting a safe clinical environment, adhering to infection prevention and control standards at all times. The postholder will lead and support a team of Clinical Support Workers and Apprentice Clinical Support Workers, promoting best practice and ensuring consistent delivery of patient-centred care.

The postholder will work in the ward within the J20 Infectious Diseases and Travel Medicine service, collaborating closely with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. They will be required to practice in accordance with Trust policies, guidelines, professional standards, and statutory requirement
