exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Adult
Cystic Fibrosis Team on J06 at St James Hospital.
We
are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and committed to the
provision of excellence in cystic fibrosis care and who wants to develop their
skills and knowledge in this field.

will join a team of friendly J06 Team to make a difference for adults with CF
PCD and bronchiectasis. The successful applicant must hold current NMC

This
is a part time role of 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will be joining a team that provides high quality ward
based care to individualised patients with cystic fibrosis, PCD, bronchiectasis
and will need to demonstrate an awareness of how a chronic illness can impact
on an individual, their family or caras and have an understanding of the
challenges this may bring. The cystic fibrosis unit is a 12 bedded inpatient
ward and you will be part of a strong, supportive ward-based multidisciplinary
team who focus on educating patients on their self-management; therefore
excellent communication skills are required.
You
will have the opportunity to develop your nursing practice and skills in
respiratory medicine including, chest drain management, oxygen therapy,
non-invasive ventilation and venepuncture.

Leeds centre for Cystic Fibrosis is recognised as a leader in CF care, and
has expanded over recent years providing care for over 400 adult patients
within the region. The newly established adult Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia
(PCD) service will provide expert care for adults with PCD through local and
regional clinics.
