We are offering an exciting opportunity to be part of the nursing team on J20 within the Specialty & Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit (CSU). We are looking for newly qualified and experienced adult nurses to apply for a role within Infectious Diseases & Travel Medicine.

We are passionate about getting it right for patients and their families, in order to achieve this, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses. J20 is a busy and dynamic ward specialising in Infectious Diseases. Our team take care of patients with complex infections acquired in the community and healthcare settings. We have expertise int the management of resistant tuberculosis, complex HIV, viral hepatitis, orthopaedic bone & joint infections and infections acquired during travel to tropical regions.

You will work with a supportive, friendly team who are passionate about making staff feel valued and motivated. We have an excellent supportive competency programme to facilitate the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high quality care, you will be provided with a structured competency programme as well as a variety of training opportunities, with a dedicated Clinical Educator for the department.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.

You will participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff and learners, as well as maintaining your personal development.

You will provide evidence based, high quality care to patients and their families. You will demonstrate standards of proficiencies of the registered nurse, be able to escalate any concerns and work in line with Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct.
