Our
service comprises of two busy Hand and Plastics Outpatient Departments in
Clarendon wing.
We
have a variety work and opportunities to gain new experience working in nurse
led dressing service. If you have an enthusiasm for managing wounds,
undertaking complex dressings and working closely with surgical colleagues to
improve the outcomes and experience for patients attending the hands and
plastics outpatient department we may be your new career choice.

We
currently work Monday to Friday 8.00 - 18.00 however in the future it is
possible that these hours may extend to include evening and weekend working.

Main duties of the job
The
jobholder will work within an environment caring for patients who are attending
Hands and plastics OP clinics at LGI.
Main responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of excellent patient
care, managing patient flow and their overall experience in department.
Providing leadership to junior staff and students and delivering care to
patients within scope of the department speciality and your NMC code of
conduct.
The
successful candidate will be expected to:
Contribute to the promotion of a
positive clinical learning environment.
Keep up to date with developments,
advances and research in individualised patient care.
Participate in research and or
education programmes relating to professional nursing issues and practice.
Complete mandatory training annually.
Participate in annual appraisal.
Participate in preceptorship and
mentorship programmes
Participate in teaching, supervising
and assessing of student nurses and other supervised staff, where allocated.
Undertake continuous professional and
clinical development, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance skills.
