Join SIM (Specialty Integrated Medicine) at LTHT we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse within the General Internal Medicine (GIM) wards.

J29 and J26 provides a great standard of quality care for all our patients and we are looking for highly skilled nurses to continue the fantastic work that J29 and J26 have already achieved. The patients on J29 and J26 have a wide variety of care conditions and needs and so we are looking for a vastly enthused, dynamic individual with the capability to empower a team whilst remaining patient centered.

Successful applicants will be working with a team of motivated and dedicated nruses who care for acute medical patients who hold the values of the Leeds way and demonstrate commitment to provide high standards of nursing care.

We will support you in becoming a specialist in complex medical management; you will develop skills in a variety of nursing specialities, complex discharge planning and much more!

Main duties of the job

Acts in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct.

Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.

Maintain and deliver compassionate patient focused care in accordance with LTHT guidelines, policies, values, and behaviours.

Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring documentation standards are upheld in accordance with NMC and LTHT guidelines, whether written or computerised.

Undertake continuous professional and clinical development, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance skills.

Complete mandatory training annually

In the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse take charge of the unit and co-ordinate ward or department activities

Raise concerns with regards to risk, danger, malpractice, or wrongdoing by following the LTHT Whistleblowing policy and supporting processes.
