Job summary
We
are currently seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic
band 5 ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our small, friendly, dedicated team
within the One Day Unit at Leeds Dental institute.
The
successful applicant will be required to work 30hrs per week over 3 days
(Monday-Friday) and provide an excellent care to meet the individual patient's
needs and support them through their day case journey.
The role will involve working in Anaesthetics, PACU,
Second stage recovery and theatre (scrub
and circulate)
Main duties of the job
As
an ODP/Anaesthetic nurse within the One Day Unit you will be supporting a
diverse range of patients with ages ranging from 3 to adults.
The
role will involve rotation within the department such as - Anaesthetic room working with both adult
and paediatric anaesthetists, Theatre, run and scrub, PACU recovering both
adults and children and Second stage recovery caring for pre and post
operative patient from admission to discharge.
Our
team consists of ODPs, Registered Nurses, Dental Nurse , POAs, visiting
surgeons, anaesthetists and dental students amongst others
We
have dedicated paediatric days where we will treat 6 patients in the morning
and 5 in the afternoon and Oral surgery days where we will treat 4
adults/young adults in the morning and 3 in the afternoon
Patients
attend for treatments such as minor oral surgery and Dental extractions under General
anaesthesia or occasional IV sedation

ODU is situated within the Leeds Dental Institute and is part of the LDI CSU
The
main team consists of ODPs, General Nurses, POA, Dental Nurse and admin support
staff and is a small, integral unit

As
part of the main LDI CSU we attend away days and training where all
specialities within the LDI come together and share knowledge, experience and
future goals

and Nursing and we enjoy passing on our knowledge to the next generation
