Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to work in the Neurology Day case Unit and supporting the MS Specialist Nurses within their role.

As a key member of the team you would be pivotal to the provision of patient centred care, supporting patients undergoing a range of MS treatments.

As an experienced nurse you will be working independently but within a team environment. You will need to be a confident person who will demonstrate an ability to prioritise and organise their workload

Main duties of the job

Hours worked Monday-Friday

Training and education will be provided to develop and build on your existing knowledge base.

Job responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

To provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care within the Neurology Day Case Unit.

To carry out all relevant forms of care without supervision.

To participate in the in-service training and preceptorship/mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students.

To take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients.

To assist MS specialist Nurses with telephone/ email queries

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Level 1 or 2)

6 months experience at Band 5 level or equivalent.
