Job responsibilities
The
post holder will be practising as an independent specialist clinical
practitioner providing patient-centred and evidence-based clinical care,
within an agreed scope of competence and practice. The jobholder is
responsible for the management of a defined caseload. The jobholder carries
continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development,
implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of
standards of care.
The
post holder will provide specialist nursing advice and care to support and
facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients and their carers in
collaboration with the multi/interdisciplinary team for patients with chronic
pain, spasticity and movement disorders, who are referred to the Chronic Pain
& Neuromodulation and Neuro Rehabilitation Service, for procedures
including: spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation and
intrathecal drug delivery, as well as key involvement in the chronic pain
medication management.
To
provide specialist nursing care and support in the management of the
Neuromodulation Service. This will involve dealing with complex situations
and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings, under the
guidance of the team leader for the service.
To
be flexible in the approach to the clinical area acting as a professional
role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching, research
and audit.

Qualifications
Registered
Nurse (Level 1)
Recognised
teaching/assessing qualification

level Degree Education
Post
registration qualification in speciality field (desirable).
