Job summary
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly self-motivated individual(s) to join our Pharmacy team and to complete the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme.
You will be required to work with different pharmacy teams whilst completing the programme. You will need to demonstrate that you are a team player, be a proactive learner and be able to plan and organise your own workload. You need to be flexible in your approach to work and have good attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, a professional attitude and patient centred approach are essential.
Your duties will be varied and will involve contributing to the delivery of pharmacy services across various sites within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust whilst meeting the requirements of the training programme.
On completion of the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme, you will be required to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Main duties of the job
You will be joining a team of pre-registration trainee Pharmacy Technicians rotating around each LTHT site and you will meet a wide range of people from lots of different backgrounds. Working closely with your fellow trainee pharmacy technicians and multi-disciplinary teams you will gain valuable knowledge and skills along the way.
Your duties will include working in our hospital inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, dispensing prescriptions and issuing prescribed items, contributing to all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control.
You will gain experience working on the hospital inpatient wards, delivering pharmacy ward-based services including taking patient medication histories and educating patients on their medicines. There will also be placements within other MMPS departments with a possibility of visiting other pharmacy organisations external to LTHT.
The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis.
