Medicine Management and Pharmacy Services are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Procurement Team Leader. The successful candidate will be working off-site at our Leeds Pharmaceutical Stores location on the outskirts of the city.

The post-holder will provide leadership and operational oversight to the Pharmacy Procurement Invoicing Team, ensuring robust financial governance, regulatory compliance, and the effective management of procurement-related invoicing processes. They will be accountable for setting performance standards, driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice across the function.

Our busy Pharmacy Invoicing Team works in a fast-paced yet supportive environment, delivering an excellent medicines supply service across the organisation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure medicines are available in the right place, at the right time, supporting safe and effective patient care.

The role will also deputise for and provide high-level support to the Pharmacy Procurement Business Manager, contributing to business planning, risk management, service improvement initiatives, and stakeholder engagement to ensure resilience, value for money, and operational excellence across pharmacy procurement services

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the line management of the Pharmacy Procurement Business team, ensuring that they have clear roles and responsibilities and work as a team to meet departmental goals and objectives.

Participate in the recruitment and selection of the administrative staff.

Responsible for the staff development of the Pharmacy Procurement Invoicing team in order to maximise the quality services provided and enhance the competence of the staff.

Conduct appraisals and monitor and review the performance of the individuals within the team, taking action as appropriate

Effectively manage annual leave and sickness absence of the administrative staff

Assist the Pharmacy Procurement Business Manager in ensuring that the invoicing team are supported through any period of change and that any interpersonal conflict is identified and minimised.

Provide support for the Pharmacy Procurement Business Manager in compiling and producing timely and accurate specialised monthly reports and statistics as required by the service
