Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and self-motivated individual, who already holds an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, to join the LTHT Clinical Trials team as a Pharmacy Support Worker Higher (XR03).
In this role you will work with our dedicated Clinical Trials dispensary team of technicians, pharmacist, assistants and apprentices providing support services to the clinical trial research teams.
With over 350 different trials running at site, you will get to experience a varied and unique workload, including suiting up in full PPE to handle biohazardous medicines, using ultra low temperature freezers, and dispensing medicines which may be being used for the very first time in humans!
We play an important role in collecting data to support the approval process for new medicines, so you must be able to work accurately and have a keen eye for detail.

Main duties of the job
This is a varied role where you will be able to use your time management skills to ensure a smooth workflow of prescriptions through the dispensary as well as maintaining and managing accurate records for drug reimbursement.
Day-to-day you will provide a variety of pharmacy support duties including stock control, labelling, assembly, preparation, dispensing, receipt and distribution of medicines. In addition, you will work closely with the aseptic team to ensure preparation worksheets are costed and filed in a timely manner to allow for the reimbursement of medicines by trial Sponsors.
Experience in clinical trials would be an advantage however is not a requirement as all necessary training will be provided and we will support you through a structured learning pathway.
