Job summary
We are looking for a Production or Pharmacy Technician Higher Level to join a rapidly growing team that provides Ready to Administer IV medicines. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of a busy unit, including accuracy checking of medicines.
The Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit is based at Moor House and operates under an MHRA licence. The service provides high quality pharmaceutical products for our patients whilst having no direct patient contact.
To perform this role, you will need good manual dexterity and a high ability to concentrate whilst maintaining accuracy. There is a requirement to wear PPE.
Applicants must have a Level 3 Science Manufacturing Qualification or an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and be registered or eligible to register with the GPhC or the Science Council. Aseptic experience is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
This role involves the direct supervision of the preparation of Ready to Administer IV medicines including pre, in-process and final accuracy checking of products. You will also gain experience of working with Quality Systems as part of this role including updating SOPs, raising non-conformances and completing investigations.
You will support the Specialist Technicians by organising and co-ordinating the staff and workload whilst ensuring all batches are prepared according to standard operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice. You will also be involved in training and development within the team and will gain experience of coaching and mentoring staff. Experience of training others may be beneficial.

The post is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly over a 4-day working week (Monday to Friday) but the post holder must work until 7pm as part of some of the shifts. You will also be expected to participate in a Bank Holiday and Weekend rota
