We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Science Manufacturing or Pharmacy Technician with a passion for training and development to join our team in the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit. In this role you will help to shape the learning journey of trainees and apprentices to ensure that staff gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to thrive in a regulated, GMP-compliant environment.

This is an exciting time to join us as we are part of a national programme to transform aseptic services in England, with West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) identified as one of Englands pathfinder sites.
All candidates must have either a Level 3 Science Manufacturing Qualification or an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and be registered or eligible to register with the GPhC or the Science Council. Aseptic experience is essential for this post.

Main duties of the job
Act as a key trainer for the delivery of the in-house training programme and complete all associated documentation.
Co-ordinate training and identify staff development needs and opportunities.
Maintain accurate records for competency-based training programmes ensuring evidence is up to date and compliant.
Provide tailored training and support for level 2 & level 3 learners on apprenticeships and other qualifications.
Act as a mentor for trainees, providing on-the-job coaching and feedback.
Support training for rotational staff including Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) apprentices and Trainee Pharmaceutical Scientists (STPs).
Assist in the development or adaptation of training materials.
Carry out quarterly 1:1s with junior staff.
Support recruitment of new level 2 & level 3 apprentices.
Deliver structured induction programs for new staff.
You will also be required to support the service one day per week involving the day to day running of a busy unit, including supervision of staff and accuracy checking of medicines.
The post is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly over a 4-day working week (Monday - Friday) but the post holder must work until 7pm as part of some of the shifts. You will also be expected to participate in a Bank Holiday and Weekend rota.
