Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated pharmacist to join the Chapel Allerton Pharmacy Team for 12 months as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist.
The postholder will work closely with the rheumatology and dermatology teams, helping to manage the most advanced treatments available within these specialties.
We are looking for someone who is able to manage a dynamic and changing workload, providing oversight of this specialised and rapidly developing area. The post holder will be expected to utilise skills around medicines governance, finance and clinical trials.
In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient and day case clinical areas at Chapel Allerton, working closely with the MDT inputting to specialist pharmaceutical care. Any additional training requirements would be covered using a thorough induction and support from experienced colleagues.
Main duties of the job
- Provide an advanced clinical pharmacy service to rheumatology and dermatology services including day case, homecare medicines and inpatient wards
- Validation of targeted therapies across a range of sub specialities
- Attendance at speciality meetings and/or MDTs
- Support the implementation of new rheumatology and dermatology treatments
- Support Drug & Therapeutics processes for individual and cohort applications for the unlicensed use of medicines as well as free of charge/compassionate use schemes
- Undertake finance reporting to support the best value for medicines agenda
- Support the oversight of biosimilar implementation at Chapel Allerton
- Undertake required audits and reviews to ensure services are adhering to local and national standards
- Provide training and supervision to colleagues in the Chapel Allerton team and across pharmacy
- Supervise and line manage a junior pharmacist

Our team is made up of some highly experienced pharmacists who have strong working relationships with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Any new starter to the team receives a thorough induction drawing on the years of experience possessed by our pharmacists and technicians within various specialist fields.
