We are requiring an Inventory Controller to work within our stores team. This is a challenging role, where we require an individual that is organised, composed, dynamic and has great attention to detail.

As the successful candidate you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as working within a team.

Main duties of the job

This position is working across our two Aseptic stores, at the LGI and SJUH.

The main fundamentals of the role are to ensure all stock is maintained across sites. To manage and monitor the efficient purchasing of drug inventory, to ensure minimal wastage whilst maintaining a reliable and effective service.

To manage the progression of overdue orders and the timely collation and dissemination of information relating to drug supply problems. To provide support to the Specialist Technician in the sourcing of new or alternative product supply, the purchase of unlicensed medicines and to assist in the implementation of new drug contracts and policy changes.

Two Aseptic Stores has a stockholding of approximately £1.6million The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all drug orders are placed in accordance with LTH Standing Financial Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.

HNC level knowledge or equivalent practical experience.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Effort:

The post involves prolonged periods of sitting and working at a P.C. in addition to standing and walking. The post holder is occasionally required to lift and carry boxes of up to 10kg

Mental Effort:

The post requires prolonged periods of concentration for analysing complex data/statistics and inputting data. The post holder is frequently interrupted by telephone queries from customers and suppliers. The workload is unpredictable and the post holder is frequently required to change tasks.

Emotional Effort:

The post holder is required to deal with staff attendance issues such as conducting return to work interviews and will not have a high level of emotional effort

Working conditions:

May be required to travel to other sites within LTHT to attend training/briefing sessions, meetings or support other dispensaries as required. The Trust shuttle bus service is available for all sites. The post holder is required to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis. Will be required to participate in the year end stock counts which are performed out of normal working hours.
