Job summary

We are looking for 3 experienced procurement professionals to work within one of our 3 regional pharmacy procurement workstreams: Homecare medicines, Licensed medicines, and Unlicensed medicines. The role covers a customer base of trusts within the North East and Yorkshire region and provides a complex purchasing and contracting service for medicines and services.

You will be actively involved in procurements ensuring compliance with Standing Financial Orders and Standing Financial Instructions and UK Public Procurement Legislation. Develop workplans, identify new opportunities across the categories and contribute to the development of the service. The role includes supporting the management of highly complex contracts within the allotted category, to include contract management and implementation, stakeholder relationship management, and analysis of data sets with the aim of continuous improvement.

You will work under the guidance of the Lead Category Managers to provide and promote collaborative working across the region to support the efficient and effective delivery of the service. This role is hybrid, with time split between our office in Leeds and remote working. The role involves face to face meetings and requires some travel outside of the region.

Main duties of the job

Work as part of a dynamic team and provide an effective and professional fully compliant purchasing and contracting service to meet Consortia requirements.

Actively support development of the workplans across the portfolios, identify new opportunities in line with local, regional, and national procurement initiatives.

Contribute to the development of services, support production of strategies and business cases for highly complex contracts ensuring procurement performance through monitoring of key performance indicators.

Support both internal and external stakeholders in implementing change i.e. Regulatory changes, contract awards and implementation of best practice.

Encourage stakeholders to engage and work collaboratively.

Monitor financial activities and produce regular management reports.

Support delivery of cost efficiencies and benefits in line with Consortia objectives.

Ensure continuous professional development is achieved and participate in relevant training as required.

Support all aspects of category management including analysis of complex data, tender returns, validating stakeholder information and monitoring contract compliance.

Provide advice on procurement for goods and services and provide support to customer base with specific tendering processes.
