Post-CCT Senior Clinical Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery
This 6 or 12 month post will commence on or after: August 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Leeds Upper Limb Unit (LULU) for the appointment of a Shoulder & Elbow Fellow. This bespoke role will be designed in collaboration with the successful candidate/candidates, to cover the generality of both elective and trauma shoulder and elbow surgery. In addition, there is the opportunity to experience various super-subspecialty areas of shoulder and elbow practice, including revision shoulder arthroplasty, primary and revision elbow arthroplasty, complex arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction, paediatric shoulder and elbow and combined ortho-plastic upper limb procedures.

Main duties of the job
Applications are welcome from all suitably qualified trainees. Candidates must be post-CCT prior to the commencement of the post. The post holder will join the LULU team and have an opportunity to tailor their experience to suit their interests or intended consultant appointment (see Job Description). This post will prepare the successful candidate/s for their consultant post in shoulder and elbow surgery.
The successful applicant will be working across the Leeds General Infirmary (Trauma, Paeds, combined plastics/vascular cases) and Chapel Allerton Hospital (Adult Elective) sites. Alongside the clinical experience, it is expected that successful candidates would join and take part in research activities as appropriate, and help with departmental audit. There will be plenty of opportunities to write sub-specialty peer reviewed papers and other publications.

The service comprises seven Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons who undertake all aspects of upper limb reconstruction. The case mix is varied and each Consultant has their own field of interest and expertise.
