Job summary
This
is a 10PA appointment for a Specialist in Radiology with GU
oncology/gynaecology experience. This post will be available from April
2026. This is for a period of
indefinite.
This
post will deliver 10PAs supporting the GU/GU Oncology Radiology team (Dr Atif
Khan, Dr Sacha Pierre). There will be opportunities to contribute to acute CT,
MDT and AHP support. The post will be based at the SJUH and LGI.
Applicants
should have completed a minimum of 12 years medical/dental work, (continuous or
in aggregate), since obtaining a primary medical/dental qualification, of which
a minimum of 6 years should have been in a relevant speciality in the SpD
and/or closed SAS grades, (or equivalent).
You must also meet the criteria set out in the Specialist generic
capabilities framework. Applicants must of be in middle of or have completed a
fellowship in GU/GU Oncology with evidence of gynaecological training.

Main duties of the job
The
post will contribute to diagnostic on call, acute CT services, and the
supervision and support of AHP staff (ultrasound and fluoroscopy). The
appointee will join the placenta reporting team to ensure a robust reporting
pathway and act as reliable point of contact to address previous gaps. The post
will additionally will help provide some cover during periods of maternity
leave.
The
key responsibilities are:-
Diagnostic
GU workload: Provide high quality reporting and interpretation across the full
spectrum of GU imaging.
Multidisciplinary
team (MDT) participation: Contribute to regional GU, gynaecological, and
haematological MDTs.
On
acute services: Acute CT on call service.
AHP
support and supervision: Work with allied health professionals to support
ultrasound and fluoroscopy services.
Placenta
reporting: Be part of the placenta reporting rota to maintain continuity and
reduce single point failures. Service to be formally established.
Maternity
cover: Provide service resilience during colleagues maternity leave.
Working
Pattern and Job Planning
They
will also contribute to extended day working to support the acute CT on call
service; specific sessions will be agreed at job planning.
The
job plan will be reviewed and tailored according to the successful applicants
training, skills, and service needs.
