Job summary
The
position is full time for 1 year and it offers the opportunity to obtain
specialised experience in Paediatric ENT, especially in complex Paediatric
Airway Surgery and management in a multidisciplinary team approach. The
Department also provides hearing implants and complex ear, Rhinology and head
and neck surgery and routine and MDT clinics for our Paediatric ENT patients.
There will be the flexibility for rotation to the respective theatre lists and
clinics according to interest. The successful candidate will take an active
role in the Paediatric Airway service and will be working closely with Miss S.
ODonnell, Miss A. Dritsoula and Miss E. Kershaw. The successful candidate will
be part of the 1:7 on-call rota at an experienced SpR level for both children
and adults.

oncology centre, serving the whole region.
The
ENT department has been rehoused in a new area, offering adjacency of clinic,
consultant office, secretaries and management staff, which greatly enhances the
working environment. Theatres are in the same area as our related specialties,
allowing ease of inter-specialty work. The paediatric work is carried out in
the adjacent Childrens Hospital, with excellent ward and ICU facilities.
MEDICAL
STAFF IN THE DEPARTMENT
There
are currently 16 ENT Consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 2 Fellows, 5
Specialty Registrars and 8 Core Trainees/GP Trainees/Foundation Year 2 Trainees
making this a thriving department covering almost all aspects of ENT surgery.
