Locum
Consultant in Gynaecology (Colposcopy) within Women's Gynaecology Department at
St Jamess University Hospital.
This
is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Gynaecologist at St Jamess
Hospital.The post will be available immediately for a period of 6 months with
extension to 12 months upon satisfactory review.
We
are seeking dynamic, passionate, and innovative applicants to join our
dedicated team in Leeds as a Consultant Gynaecologist. The successful candidate
will provide comprehensive gynaecological care in various areas, including the
colposcopy service, gynaecology clinic, Gynaecology Acute Treatment Unit
(GATU), ambulatory gynaecology, and the operating theatre.
In
this role, you will collaborate with a friendly and motivated team committed to
recovering and continuously improving gynaecological services, ensuring
excellent patient care. There will be opportunities to participate in exciting
service development projects tailored to your interests and skills, supported
by a strong focus on professional growth.
Main duties of the job
This
requires delivering clinical services as agreed with stakeholders while
focusing on quality and efficiency, meeting clinical outcome objectives, and
adhering to service standards such as waiting times and infection control. You
will lead the colposcopy service, conduct regular clinics, supervise nurse
colposcopists, and ensure quality assurance through organizing
multidisciplinary team meetings and liaising with Public Health England.
You
should have experience in gynaecology and colposcopy, along with proven
leadership and team collaboration skills. You will be managed by your specialty
Lead Clinician and will report to Dr. Magnus Harrison, the Chief Medical

The
successful applicant should possess MRCOG (or equivalent) and should be
included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of

A
strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research
interest is desirable.

Essential
- MB BS (or equivalent) Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) or equivalent.
- Holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of CCT date in Obstetrics & Gynaecology or have equivalent training and experience.
- On Specialist Register with GMC and holding a licence to practice
Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment Hold full GMC Registration with a license to practice. Eligibility to work in the UK. Is up to date and fit to practise safely. All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
