We
are inviting applications to fill our Junior Clinical Fellow vacancy at The
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Department of Respiratory Medicine.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those desiring extensive outpatient
experience in Respiratory Medicine, specifically Asthma, TB and General
Respiratory, at a large tertiary Respiratory Centre.
We
will ensure that the post receive dedicated Consultant supervision with a
portfolio review, study leave and teaching programmes with evidence to count
towards future training.
This
post will commence February 2026 and end on February 2027 and is fixed term for
1 year.
Candidates
must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to
practice by the intended start date.

Main duties of the job
This
appointment will be based at the Department of Respiratory Medicine, St Jamess
University Hospital, Leeds, one of the largest teaching hospital Trusts in the
UK, serving a population of over 3 million. The department delivers specialist
respiratory services including severe asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung
disease, tuberculosis, COPD, and PCD. The lung cancer service is one of the
largest in the UK and is home to the Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial. We offer
bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, thoracoscopy and long-term pleural
drainage. There is a well-established programme in collaboration with radiology
to provide pleural ultrasound certification.
The
department consists of 3 inpatient wards and a 12 bed respiratory care unit
offering non-invasive ventilation. There is a separate ward for the care of
people with cystic fibrosis.
