Job summary

We are inviting applications to fill a vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Trauma and Related services CSU based at the Leeds General Infirmary.

This is a full-time appointment for a Trust Grade Doctor in Orthopaedics here at Leeds Supporting the Major Trauma Unit, this post will be for 6 months initially with potential to extend. The post will commence on the 4th August 2025.

Main duties of the job

This service will include:

Daily ward rounds and patient reviews

Support to junior workforce

Providing continuity to the Major Trauma Ward

Trauma and Orthopaedic experience in clinics and theatre

DUTIES OF THE POST

To ensure high quality and safe care of Orthopaedic patients resulting in excellent clinical outcomes.

To contribute directly to patient care by, for example, reviewing patients, organising investigations and acting on results, initiating and changing treatment, and speaking to patients and their relatives/carers about their illness and clinical progress.

To undertake essential administrative duties, including prescribing, writing electronic discharge letters, and liaising with colleagues in primary care.

To contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, working collaboratively with a large team of allied healthcare professionals, including the Early Discharge Assessment Team, specialist nurses and physiotherapists.
