Main duties of the job
At
Chapel Allerton we value our junior doctors. We are a friendly and flexible
department. We provide daily senior support on the ward, designated daily
senior medical support, and are flexible to doctors educational and leave
requirements.
Most
of the job will be spent looking after elective orthopaedic, dermatology and
rheumatology patients on the wards, regarding their medical and post-op care.
We can also arrange time assisting in theatre and to attend, supernumerary, in
out-patients if desired. There will be regular on the ward teaching for the
post holder. There is a 1 in 13 out- of-hours rota covering the Chapel Allerton
hospital site on evening and weekends.
On call cover will also include dermatology, rheumatology and complex
neuro-rehab cover.
The
specialties at Chapel Allerton Hospital are elective Orthopaedic Surgery,
Rheumatology, Neuro-Rehabilitation and Dermatology. The post is not formally
recognised for surgical training.
Candidates
must be ALS trained, fully registered with the GMC and have completed
foundation training or equivalent. They
will be required to complete e-meds training.
