LOCUM
CLINICAL FELLOW IN ADULT CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE
We
are inviting applications to fill a Clinical Fellow vacancy as a locum at The
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the Department of Adult Congenital Heart
Disease (ACHD).
This
post will commence beginning of August 2024 and will be for 1 year.
This
post is suitable for candidates who have completed IMT2 (or equivalent).
Essential qualifications: MBBS or equivalent. Essential experience: Core
Training in General Medicine or equivalent. The post would suit a candidate
either with some Cardiology experience who wishes to gain specific experience
in ACHD, or a candidate with little or no experience in Cardiology who is
looking to pursue Cardiology as a career. Many previous fellows have
successfully moved from this post to a formal Cardiology training scheme. This
post carries no on call commitment.
Candidates
must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to
practice by the intended start date.

Main duties of the job
This post will include managing patients on the
ward, attending outpatient clinics, post operative management of patients,
discussions with relatives, co-ordination of MDTs and exposure to operating
theatre and cath labs. Involvement in audit and research is encouraged.

- Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date
- Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs.
