Job summary

This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Radiologist, with special interests in Breast. This post will be available from December 2023 for a period of 18 months

This post will deliver 10 PAs supporting the Breast Radiology team which includes Dr Nisha Sharma, Dr Julie Simpson, Dr Michelle McMahon, Dr Sabrina Rajan, Dr Isobel Haigh, Dr Ferdows Eskandari, Dr Lalita Malghan and Dr Dilani Manuel. The post-holder will work at SJUH and Seacroft Hospitals working in the symptomatic breast service and breast screening. There will be opportunities to contribute to the breast MDT, provide an acute CT session and be involved in active research.

Main duties of the job

The post holders skills in Breast Radiology will complement and support the current demand on the service to deliver care to patients with breast radiology needs at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust including

Out-patient clinics

Supervision of patients

Contribute to Specialist Multi-disciplinary team meetings

The Candidate will link with Consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the Radiology CSU and across the Trust

and work with colleagues in Radiology to deliver acute on call (currently 1 in 10) for Cat A. This includes both out-of-hours cover in addition to acute ward rounds during normal working hours.

They will also contribute to research, teaching, and new developments within Breast Radiology. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department.
