This
12 month post will commence on or after: 5th February 2024
An
exciting opportunity has arisen within the Leeds Upper Limb Unit (LULU) for the
appointment of a Shoulder & Elbow Fellow. This bespoke role will be
designed in collaboration with the successful candidate/candidates, to cover
the generality of both elective and trauma shoulder and elbow surgery. In
addition, there is the opportunity to experience various super-subspecialty
areas of shoulder and elbow practice, including revision shoulder arthroplasty,
primary and revision elbow arthroplasty, complex arthroscopic shoulder
reconstruction, paediatric shoulder and elbow and combined ortho-plastic upper
limb procedures.
Applications
are welcome from all suitably qualified trainees. Candidates must be post-CCT
prior to the commencement of the post. The post holder will join the LULU team
and have an opportunity to tailor their experience to suit their interests or
intended consultant appointment (see Job Description). This post will prepare
the successful candidate/s for their consultant post in shoulder and elbow
surgery.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be working across
the Leeds General Infirmary (Trauma, Paeds, combined plastics/vascular cases)
and Chapel Allerton Hospital (Adult Elective) sites. Alongside the clinical

in research activities as appropriate, and help with departmental audit. There
will be plenty of opportunities to write sub-specialty peer reviewed papers and
other publications.
